Wendy, like any other night, looked out her window, and sat down in her window seat. It had been a while since Peter visited her and since she had talked to Tinkerbell, but she always left her window open. She sighed inwardly, and rested her head upon her hand. “Oh, Peter…” she said, wiping a tear from her eye. Had he abandoned her forever? Had he found another girl? Did he not like her anymore? They used to be so close, he even used to call her a princess. But now… where was he? Where was Tinkerbell? Maybe they had completely forgotten about her. Peter tended to forget about things and people sometimes, but this was the first serious time he’d forgotten about her, and it hurt her.
So, before she started to cry, she decided to close the window, lock it. Peter wouldn’t come back anyways, she’d lost all faith in him. Then, when Michael and John asked her why she did it, she simply said that Peter wasn’t coming back.
She thought about the last time she talked to him, he didn’t even finish talking to her. They were talking and then he suddenly… he looked sort of alarmed and left without warning. She, of course, decided to wait for a few minutes, because she was sure he’d be back… but he wasn’t. So now, after three months of waiting for him, of searching for him, she was finally doing she knew she had to do since a long time ago…
She was going to grow up. `
Pick a Princess: Wendy Darling
(note: at this point, I’d like to point out that yes, I know Wendy’s not a princess. But remember that line from A Little Princess…?)
Why, for the thousandth time, I am not a princess *smiles kindly*
first of all, peter NEVER fucking says this
second, the reason peter wanted wendy to stay in neverland was to be a goddamn MOTHER to him and the lost boys and read them stories and whatnot
this is not a romantic thing
she likes him
but he likes tiger lily
he has no interest in her
THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE HIPSTER-ISED
ooc: Excuse me, but this picture isn’t hipster-ised. It’s hustler-ised. Everyone knows that Peter never said that to Wendy, or at least I know that, since I read the book. The quote “Wendy, run away with me” actually comes from an All Time Low song called Somewhere in Neverland. It’s about growing up, accepting your responsibilities, and all that boring adult stuff that drives you insane, when all you want is a little escape. Somewhere where you can be young again. So Alex, the lead singer, asks a girl to run a way with him because he can be her everything better plan, that he’ll always be there for her, that he will be her escape. It relates because Wendy didn’t want to grow up, which is why Peter took her away.
“Peter! You won’t forget me, will you?”
“Me? Forget? Never.”
“Will you ever come back?”
“To hear stories… about me.”
This song from Peter Pan: Return To Neverland makes my heart melt.
“The second star to the right
Shines in the night for you
To tell you that the dreams you plan
Really can come true
The second star to the right
Shines with a light that’s rare
And if it’s Neverland you need
Its light will lead you there.”
- Jonatha Brooke, The Second Star To The Right
“Oh, Tink you’re alive!”
